Martin "Marty" Bailey is a United States Army combat veteran who works for the United States Department of State. He was previously a Master Sergeant in the United States Army. Bailey is also well known as the husband of Sara Carter, a Fox News contributor and investigative reporter.
Career
Bailey is a retired Master Sergeant with the Special Forces. He served for more than two decades.[3] In April 2011, Bailey was blinded during battle in Afghanistan, when a grenade exploded above his head during a firefight.[2]
Currently, Bailey works for the United States Department of State and helps wounded warriors. He also serves with the Task Force Dagger Foundation, which helps provide assistance to wounded, ill or injured United States Special Operations Command members and their families.[3]
On August 22, 2019, he was honored at Yankee Stadium, attending a game between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians.[3]
Personal Life
Martin Bailey is married to Sara Carter. The couple first met in Helmand Province of Afghanistan They have six children including a daughter named Analiese.[2] [4]
In May 2014, he was one of eight members with team Blind Strength attempting to summit the highest peak in North America. He trained more than a year to do it.[2]
