Messing's business acumen made the recently concluded Women's World Cup the most successful women's sporting event in history.

The Final game at the Rose Bowl drew a sellout crowd of 90,185, including President Clinton, and one billion worldwide television viewers in more than 70 countries.

Messing began her professional career at Latham & Watkins, one of the preeminent law firms in the country, where she specialized in corporate and securities matters.

She is a graduate of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and holds a juris doctorate from the University of Chicago.
