Mark Grimmie also known as Marcus Grimmie is the 23 year old brother of singer Christina Grimmie. He worked as her tour manager and also played guitar on stage with her. Like his sister he is from Marlton, New Jersey. He and his siter both shared a love of music and video games and were close friends. ^[4]

Marcus helped get Christina Grimmie in touch with Selena Gomez who she would later open for on the superstar’s Stars Dance and We Own the Night concert tours. Gomez's stepdad Brian Teefy tried to get in touch with Christina but since she was receiving so many messages she didn't see Teefy's message. Teefy then contacted Marcus who let Christina know. ^[4]

Heroism

On Friday June 10, 2016 Marcus tackled and caught a gunman who shot and killed his sister Christina Grimmie.

Police credit Marcus with helping preventing any more lives being lost since there was about 120 people at the venue during the shooting.

During the struggle with Marcus the gunman fatally shot himself.

There were unarmed security guards at The Plaza Live venue.

The guards checked bags and purses for contraband, but there were no metal detectors or pat-downs for people entering the venue.

On social media, many Christina Grimmie fans thanked Marcus for his heroic actions including people who were at the venue who felt that he saved their lives. ^[4]
