Marita Capote

Marita Capote (b. Caracas, Venezuela April 23, 1960) is a Venezuelan actress and singer from the 1980s. Born María del Carmen Capote Abdel, she is the daughter of Venezuelan actor Julio Capote and sister of actress Tatiana Capote. [1]

Career

Capote began her career as an actress in 1973 when she participated in the soap opera Raquel.

She began singing with the support of producer Stefano Pagani and recorded her first 45 RPM single in 1983, entitled Disfraz emocional/Cuando el sol se va. Her musical style can be described as pop and disco. She enjoyed success with her first single and went on release further singles such as "Escalofrío" (1983) and "Maryta" (1985).

Capote chose not to continue as a singer and instead continue to concentrate on her acting career, enjoying success as a villain in the telenovela Cristal in 1986.[2]
