Biography
It begins within the informative space of Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV) known as "El Observador" as an event reporter.
Later, she participates in several "ALERT" programs, leading only one year (1988).
With studies in Diplomacy and Social Communication at the Andrés Bello Catholic University and the Central University of Venezuela.
Specialist in opinion programs, where she has demonstrated why, she has been a bulwark of the country's social communicators, given her frontal position against injustices and the abuses of those who hold power.

"A Puerta Cerrada" was directed by Nelson Bocaranda, being the first talk show on Venezuelan television, and has been on the air since 1983.
But, at the end of the 1980s, Santana was commissioned with the vacancy left by Nelson Bocaranda.
Marieta Santana becomes one of the most emblematic journalists on Venezuelan television, and the space was always present to be a forum for the problems and complaints of the common Venezuelan in the political, economic and social spheres.
"A Puerta Cerrada" remained on the air until 1997.
Then Santana switched to radio and returned to TV in 2003, leading the “Y Punto” space on a local television station called La Tele.
However, the programs produced were censored and she was thrown out of this channel when she expressed her strong rejection of the closure of RCTV.
She returns like this in 2007 with the relaunching of the program "A Puerta Cerrada" reflecting her critical, independent, broad and participative spirit of the programming of the new International RCTV, now by satellite and private cable; is, without a doubt, one of the best-trained journalistic personalities in this school of respect for the opinion of the other, high-level discussion and commitment to people and their problems
