Morgun, Maria Alekseevna is a journalist, editor-in-chief of the Jivaya Planeta TV channel, TV host, and correspondent of the VGTRK * (The Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company)*. She was born on September 20, 1984, in Moscow, Russia.
Education
Maria attended a school with an in-depth study of the French language.
While she was in 11th grade she decided to study at the Faculty of Law but changed her mind after visiting an open day at Higher School of Economics) and graduated the Department of business and political journalism in 2007.
Career
Maria Morgun has started her career from practicing in the news department of the Channel One Russia in 2004, where she worked for the next two years.
Later on she became a member of VGTRK (The Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company) since 2006. Maria has begun working there as a correspondent of the "Russia-24" TV channel. In 2008 she broadcasted the Pryamaya Liniya with Vladimir Putin. According to Maria, everyone in her family has to work regardless of position and age: "My grandmother, who is 75 years old, still works, she helps children with health problems and her specialty is a pediatric curative pedagogy".
Personal Life
Maria is married and has two daughters: Ulyana (born in 2012) and Sophia (born in 2014).
Her spouse is a businessman and works in the field of construction.
Maria Morgun does not like sharing information about her family: "I just do not consider it necessary to show my family pictures, especially children's, and putting their pictures on the Internet," she says.

Scandals
Maria Morgun made a reservation and called the State Duma a "gosdura" (State Fool) during a three-hour release on Russia 24 сhannel in 2013. This happened in the 29th minute. The management of the channel apologized for the disclaimer of Maria. Vladimir Pozner also made the same reservation in one of the issues of his program and immediately apologized to the viewers.
