Marcus Solis
Marcus Solis (born 1969) is an American Journalist, reporter and a member of National Association of Hispanic Journalists.[1]
Early Life
He was born in 1969 in the Bronx, New York, United States.
He graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Broadcast journalism.[2]
He grew up watching Eyewitness News and ever since then it has been his dream to join the Eyewitness News.
Career
He started his career as he had an interest in becoming a journalist from a very young age since he grew up watching Eyewitness News and it became his dream then.
His dream came to pass in 1997 when he joined the Eyewitness News and began covering news and stories throughout the tri-state area and filed reports from Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
Before joining WABC-TV he was a reporter/anchor for New York 1 News, WDTV in Clarksburg, West Virginia and WFAS (AM) and FM in White Plains.
Personal Life
He is married to Christina Ha.
He met her when she came over to his work place at New York 1 News, the cable television station since they were fellow reporters.His
wife Christina once said in an interview that
''I was tired of the subways, the small apartments, the weak dating scene,'' she said.
''I wanted to go to Montana.
I said: 'I'll be a cowgirl.
I'll have open air.
I'll ride a horse.' '' She added: ''But I fell in love with Marcus and I didn't hate the city anymore.
Suddenly, if I was stuck in traffic, it didn't matter.''
They started dating in fall 1996 and in 1998, they moved into an Upper West Side apartment together, where they became serious homebodies with a large spice rack and a tattered Scrabble board.
He proposed in September in the Napa Valley and on September 16 they got married in a Roman Catholic ceremony at the Sacred Heart Church in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., with a reception afterward at Estherwood, an ornate mansion in Dobbs Ferry that makes one think of bustled gowns and dinner parties from ''The Age of Innocence,'' the bride's favorite movie.
He is a die-hard New York Mets fan.
