Marc-Kwesi Farrell is the Vice President of the US Retail Lobby and eCommerce at Starbucks Corporation, Global Beverage and Retail Innovation and the founder of Fanlime.

Early life and education

Marc-Kwesi Farrell is a Trinidad native, his hometown is Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. [8] Marc went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the period between 1999 and 2003.

He attended MIT when he was just 16 years old.

[8]At MIT, he majored in Chemical engineering and received his bachelor's degree upon graduation in 2003.

After MIT, Marc-Kwesi Farrell decided to continue his further studies in Britain and enrolled at the University of Cambridge in 2003.

A year later, in 2004, Marc earned his Master of Philosophy degree in Technology Policy.

[0]In 2008, Marc-Kwesi entered Harvard Business School and purchased his MBA in four years.

Career

Marc-Kwesi Farrell started his career path in Greater Boston Area.

He worked for a company named Bain as a senior associate consultant.

His employment there lasted 3 years, from September 2004 to August 2007.

[0]After working in consulting at Bain & Company & graduating from Harvard Business School, Marc set out to launch a company centered around his passions for sports and branding.

[4]Meanwhile, between September 2007 and August 2008, Marc served as an associate for Fidelity Equity Partners, being part of the founding team of private equity professionals for FEP in the UK.

Starting from May 2007 to March 2011, Marc-Kwesi Farrell was a Vice President of Operations and Strategy at Caribbean Ideas.

Caribbean Ideas is an emerging online media company in the Caribbean presently developing a number of online properties in the region, the first of which is the landmark site caribbeanaxis.com - a unique Caribbean portal which provides consolidated news and lifestyle content, along with a travel booking engine, and a strong professional networking and job search application.

In October 2010, Marc-Kwesi founded his own company called Fanlime located in New York City, that allows fans to experience and purchase what's trending through the eyes of their favorite athletes.

[0] [1]They work with marquee athletes to build a better narrative around the things they care about ‘off the field’ — fashion, music, rides, events, etc. —and allow fans to take action on their recommendations through digital commerce.

In October 2013, Fanlime launched a new IPad app for their partner athletes as of Oct 2013.

[7]Having had worked at Fanlime for about five years, Marc left the company in January 2016.

He then started working for Starbucks & Teavana as a Vice President of eCommerce in the month of February.

In October, his position switched to the Vice President of the US Retail Lobby and eCommerce.

Today Marc still works there, in Greater Seattle Area, Washington.
