Marc Istook is a Journalist, Host and Producer. He is a Fort Worth. He joins the Daybreak team of co-anchor Kara Sewell, meteorologist Greg Fields and traffic anchor Demetria Obilor. ^[1]

A native Texan, Marc's love for journalism began early.

His first big "get" was at age 14, nabbing an interview with music legend Billy Joel for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's teen section of the newspaper.

In high school he stayed busy shooting and editing videos, using a rudimentary setup between his family's VHS decks.

As a Radio/TV/Film and journalism student at Texas Christian University, 1998, he honed his chops interviewing legends like MLB Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan, interning at WFAA, the ABC affiliate in Dallas, and hosting radio shows on the school's station, KTCU. The Southwest High School and TCU graduate started his TV career behind the scenes, producing graphics for ESPN.

His professional career began at KTEN, the NBC affiliate in Denison, Texas, where Marc started as the weekend sportscaster before being quickly promoted to main anchor of the 6 and 10 pm newscasts. His love for sports eventually led him back to the sports desk, and as KTEN's Sports Director Marc's work was recognized by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters and Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters.

In 2001 Marc moved west to Los Angeles, California, where he continued covering local news and sports before hosting his first national network show, "Gotta Get It" for the Food Network. His work there was seen by the TV Guide Network, which soon hired him as a correspondent for the launch of the daily entertainment news show, "Hollywood 411."

His assignments ranged from movie premieres to set visits to hosting red carpet award shows for the Oscars, Emmy Award and more. Since his time at TV Guide Marc has stayed busy juggling a variety of hosting work, including movie premieres for Yahoo!, a reality show for the Speed (TV channel), programming for American Broadcasting Company, entertainment reporting for CNN, covering tech news for the BBC, and filling in as morning show anchor for the NFL Network. You can currently see his work as a sportscaster for the NFL Network, hosting NFL GameDay Live and NFL Fantasy Live, and as the host of the Fox News Channel syndicated comedic game show Punchline!

He spent the past five years focused on football as a host and sports anchor for the NFL Network-based, where his bosses didn’t seem to mind when he openly rooted for the Dallas Cowboys.

His work has taken him all over the globe, but now he’s thrilled to embark on new adventures back home in Texas at WFAA.

Marc is an avid cook, runner, photographer and fan of TCU Horned Frogs.
