Background
Maggie when as a young child.
She grew up in a farm in a rural area in Eastern Shore, Maryland. She started to play the Harp at seven years old. The other instrument that she learned how to play growing up was the Banjo she used to write Folk music with. She always enjoyed being in Nature and the outdoors.
She trained to be an outdoor guide in lead hiking trips in Alaska during a time when she was figuring out what else she could besides music. She cut off her hair and continued to explore herself more.
She stopped making music for a few years in the middle of her Education.
She studied abroad in France and fell in love with Dance music in the country.
In late 2015, she returned to making music again.
Musical Style

After leaving music for a few years, she returned to New York University to continue her study in Musicology and Music production.
On February, 2016, as part of the master class that Pharrell Williams instructed at NYU, Maggie's professor brought her in front of the class and introduced her to Williams. One of the songs that she had been working on played for Williams to listen to. Williams reaction throughout the song gave an expression of approval and astonishment. After the song was over, he said:
"Wow.I
have zero notes for that and I'll tell you why. You're
doing your own thing. It's
singular... I've
never heard anyone like you before and I've never heard anything that sounds like that. That's
a drug for me. That
was cool and I'd be very curious to see what your visuals look like."[undefined]
Since then on, Maggie was featured on dozens of music publications and began to get a lot of attention on the internet.
The original video of the master class with Pharrell was edited and cut many times in different versions so
that YouTubers can skip to the part when Maggie meets Pharrell and the song is played. The videos collectively shared through Social media has gone viral already with millions of views. [undefined]
On May, 2016, she once again left University to pursue Music full-time.
She released a music video for the song "Alaska" which has garnered more than a million views.
Her style of songs have a tender use of trebles in pitch that merges well with melodies that shape the overall arc of her song structures.
