Lynn Garland is married to DC Appeals Court judge and Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland since 1987. Lynn is from NYC from a Jewish family, her dad was a Partner at the prestigious law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Lynn is a graduate of Brearley School and Harvard University, where she graduated cum laude. She then obtained a Master of Science degree in operations management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. ^[1]

Lynn's grandfather, Samuel Rosenman, served as a New York State Supreme Court justice and as a counsel to Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry Truman.

Lynn's daughters, Rebecca and Jessica Garland, graduated from Yale University. The Garlands live in Maryland.
