Synopsis

Lorena Morantes (Coraima Torres) thought that by marrying Miguel Ferrero (Diego Ramos), love would be enough to overcome all the rejection problems she had with her mother-in-law Rufina de Ferrero (María Cecilia Botero) and some of her other children.

However, destiny had prepared another even harder test for her, and before she could tell her husband that she was pregnant, he disappeared in a shipwreck caused by a storm.

She feels ready to die, but the birth of her son forces her to accept life with her in-laws in spite of knowing that her mother-in-law and brothers-in-law Rodolfo (Guillermo Vives), Gerardo (Orlando Miguel) and Rebeca (Amada Rosa Perez), think of her as an intruder who is only after the inheritance of Miguel.

The truth that nobody knows is that Miguel was rescued in a coastal city by some fishermen who left him in the hands of the doctor Silvia Rivero (Ana Soler).

Miguel recovers from amnesia and soon, he develops a relationship with Silvia, as he does not remember anything from his previous life.

Meanwhile, Lorena must accept her new life, while her mother-in-law and Juan (Lincoln Palomeque), another of her brothers-in-law, plan how to make the old and sick Mateo disappear and take over the Ferrero's fortune.

They plot to make sure the inheritance does not end up with Lorena's son.

Juan's plan is to get Lorena to fall fall in love with him.

With time, Miguel recovers his memory and when trying to return, Rufina makes him believe that his wife has started a new life with Juan and that they had a child together.

Lorena's love of Miguel, the advice of her friend Camila (Susana Torres) and her sister Mariela (Adriana Silva), will be the only thing that keeps her sane and focussed against the adversity of Muguel's family who try their best to destroy everyhing she has.
