Born and raised in the United States East Coast for most of her life, she mostly grew up in the community of Sharon, Connecticut.
Education
She is a graduate of Wellesley College where she received her degree with honors in Business and Managerial economics. She was also a Durant Scholar.
Career

After college, she started her career in New York City where she has remained since. For decades she worked in Wall Street and became a sought after analyst. She entered her United States Congress equity firm in the Japanese markets. She later became the first female to be a partner at Wertheim & Co.
As an analyst for Wertheim & Co., she covered oilfield stocks.
She later assumed the role of Director of International Research and Co-Head Investment Research.
She retired in 1990 from Wall Street after having her third child.
Columnist
After her retirement, she started sharing her opinions about the markets and began writing for several publications.
She is currently a writer and a columnist for The Fiscal Times.
Personal Life
She is married to Jeffrey M. Peek, CEO of CIT, and they have three children.
