Liezel Van Der Westhuizen (born July 12, 1978) is a presenter and Master of ceremonies at SABC 3 new breakfast show called “Expresso”, live weekday mornings.
Early life
She was born in South Africa. At an early age, Liezel love watching news especially the way journalist interpret events to the audience. That singular thought later graduated to be love and career. She love swimming, running, cycling, spinning and scuba-diving.
Education
Liezel attend the University of Pretoria where she has a Master Degree in Communication. She is a member of Toastmasters International since 2000 and also received her Advanced Toastmaster Bronze certificate in 2005.
Career
Liezel officially became a face of the channel “SABC 3” on July 2007 when SABC3 re-launched a new brand image.
Before she join SABC3, she has worked for a publicity company.
Liezer was announced by M-Net as the new host of Idols for the show's 5th season in December 2008, replacing Colin Moss who was the host of season 4 idols.
She immediately began hosting Idols 5 on Sunday 1 February, 2009.
Due to massive recognition of her talents, she later left the show midway through Season 6 to take a job co-hosting the SABC3 breakfast show Expresso, in 2010.
Liezel is also a presenter on Jacaranda 94.2. It was later discover that Liezel’s ability to reach audiences, was her warm and fine tune in presenting information skills. According to her, my voice earned me a strong following among the province’s radio listeners and I began my radio life at Tuks FM and was well and truly hooked on the joys of being able to use media to connect with people”.[4][5]

“I’ve always loved speaking in public and conveying my point of view to a broad audience,”
Liezel usually says that her Toastmaster experience really give her edge over other journalist. She also indicate that public speaking and communication at "Abraham Kriel Childrens" Home really assist her communication to the wider audience as a volunteer.[3]
