Biography
She arrived in Venezuela in the fifties and began acting in a children's theater group, where she loved to sing.
Her career began in radio soap operas and from there branched out to television where she had several successes with characters created for humorous and dramatic programs.
She was part of telenovelas Esmeralda, La zulianita, a girl named Milagros, Querida mamá (Dear Mom), Lucecita, Peregrina, De mujer a mujer (woman to woman), La Revancha (Revenge), Pasionaria (Passionflower), La señorita Elena (Miss Elena), Rosario, Kassandra, Mundo de Fieras (World of beasts), Alejandra, Doña Bárbara, Mariana de la noche, Los amores de Anita Peña (The loves of Anita Peña), Lejana como el viento (Far away as the wind), La Inolvidable (The Unforgettable) and Muñeca de trapo (Rag doll), Toda una dama (A whole lady), and in the youth serials A todo corazón (With all my heart) and Así es la vida (That's life).
Her last appearance was in the soap opera Natalia del Mar and La mujer perfecta (The Perfect Woman) of Venevisión. She is well remembered for her performances in Peregrina and Kassandra.
Magaz also got into the theater and national cinema.
She participated in several productions in the theater such as the play With a Illusion with Mirtha Borges and Freddy Salazar, and also several roles in the national cinema.
In Cuba, she worked on radio and television until she married the Venezuelan Guillermo Navas Fernández on December 23, 1953.
With her husband she came to live in a house that she named San Lázaro, a property that she acquired at the suggestion of actress América Alonso.
In 2006, she lost her husband, who fulfilled until the end his promise to let her "be an actress".
She died at the Santa Sofía clinic on May 6, 2013, after being hospitalized since April of the same year, because of a cancer (non-Hodgkin lymphoma), at the age of 91.[3]
