Lexy Panterra

Lexy Panterra

Lexy Panterra (born Alexis Liela Afshar on May 22, 1989) [55] is a dancer, celebrity twerk instructor, recording artist, and songwriter. She is best known for her twerking videos on YouTube, along with her exercise program LexTwerkOut. [47]

As of June 2019, Lexy has 2.5M followers on Instagram.[34]

Early Life & Education

Lexy Panterra was born in Sonoma County, California and was conceived in a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass. [47] Her father immigrated from Iran and changed his last name to Panterra. [8]

Her earlier years were lived moving in between her father's house in Los Angeles to her mother's house in Sacramento. [21]

She was raised in a family that operates on dangerous speeds, particularly on her father's side.

Her father, Tony Panterra, was a professional Motocross race and her uncle, Alex Dodd, is a 17-time world champion drag racer. [47]

She followed her parents' generation's footsteps.

At age 2, her father nicknamed her "Lex Luther" on the account that she had a sweet disposition to manipulate those around her to get what she wanted.

[47]

By age 8, she started racing motorcycles.

Her first race was at Los Angeles County Raceway. After winning multiple races, she retired at the age of 11. She decided to stop after her father seriously injured himself in a Motocross accident. [47]

When she was 5 years old, Panterra showed a different side by winning her first beauty pageant.

She later got involved with dancing, singing, at a young age.

She was trained in ballet and hip hop. She eventually learned how to twerk from her step-cousins at the age of 12. [5]

During her high school years, she got involved in theater productions, performing in multiple school musicals.

Career

Twerking

In 2013, she gained inspiration to incorporate twerking into her dance/exercise routines.

This was right after Miley Cyrus's twerking performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony.

In January 2014, Lexy Panterra founded her twerking exercise program LexTwerkOut.

Back when she first started exercising, she personally did not like the look and feel of traditional workouts.

With this in mind, she created a concept that combined twerking with fitness.

Her idea is to create a workout that is just as efficient as traditional cardio and squatting while also empower people to look sexy and confident.

[51] [52]

Lexy has received critical acclaim from Christina Milian, [52] Tamar Braxton, Tameka "Tiny" Harris, Karrueche Tran, and Mel B. [52] Milian knew Lexy before launching LTO Fitness and took Lexy's first class. After Chrstina endorsed it, the course immediately gained recognition from other celebrities. [51]

After gaining recognition, Panterra has twerked at several events in major cities, including New York City, Hollywood, and Las Vegas. [21]

For the first 15 minutes of her twerking class, Lexy has her students warm up by stretching and doing some cardio exercises.

[51]

In her classes for beginners, she goes through all of the moves and teaches her students how to twerk.

After the initial lesson, she does a freestyle for one song so that she can see what her students have learned.

Next, they do a twerk train line or they have a "Twerkle" (twerk circle) so the girls can show off what they know.

After that, they cool down.

[51]

The advanced class is for students who already know how to twerk and they just get into their workout.

[51]

YouTube

To promote her studio and classes, she created a YouTube channel under the same name.

The channel gained a substantial following at an exponential rate.

The majority of her videos have gone viral, receiving hundreds of thousands of views.

[20]

As of June 2019, her channel has 2.1M subscribers.

In addition to her dancing and fitness videos, she gained fame by developing a career in music.

It started in 2012 when she shot a house/trance/pop album with an Eastern European group.

[5]

Eventually, after gaining recognition with her twerkout videos on YouTube and her LexTwerkOut fitness studio, she has made a name for herself in the music industry.

Her debut single, "Lit," was released on October 5, 2015.

[46]

Since then, she collaborated with several artists, including Futuristic, [15] Claydee, [49] and Demarco. [48] She has demonstrated her ability to twerk in several of her music videos, as well.

In February 2019, she released official music video for her song called Lies. As of June 2019, it has more than 300,000 views on YouTube.[100] In March 2019, the new song, More Than You, was released in collaboration with HARBER.[101] In May 2019, Shaun Frank released a song called Where Do You Gofeaturing Lexy.[103]

Personal Life

Lexy Panterra is the daughter of Motocross racer Tony Panterra and the niece of drag racer and producer Alex Dodd. She has three brothers. [47]

Her grandmother on her father's side, Leila Kasra Afshar, was a songwriter, producer, and poet during the 60's and 70's.

[47] [5] She moved to the United States with Lexy's father after the Iranian Revolution in 1979. She died of breast cancer in 1989. [5]

In April 2018, Lexy Panterra started dating Brooklyn Beckham, the son of David and Victoria Beckham. [56] They have been spotted together as early as April 2018, when they were first photographed at an event in La Quinta, California. [56] In August 2018, the couple broke up.[102]
