When Cuen was 18-years old, she went to Jerusalem to study Arabic in an abroad program, but dropped out and started reporting from a refugee camp in Bethlehem instead.
In 2012, Cuen moved to Israel to further her career in writing and journalism. [undefined] While based in Tel Aviv, her articles appeared in several publications including Al Jazeera English, Salon, The Jerusalem Post, Yedioth Ahronoth (Ynet), Culture Magazine, and World Literature Today. Cuen first heard about Bitcoin in 2015 when she was working at a media company in Tel Aviv with a team of darknet experts who trained in elite military units.
Her manager assigned her to write a story on the subject of people buying drugs with cryptocurrency.
