LeDajrick Cox was an 18-year-old from Dallas, Texas.
Life and Activities

LeDajrick grew up in Dallas and attended David W. Carter High School and graduated in May of 2017. An athlete, Cox was a member of his high school's football team and track squad. Recently, he ran the anchor leg in the Class 4A 4X200 meter relay during the 2017 UIL State Championship. [undefined] LeDajrick had multiple scholarship offers to play football and college but chose to bring his talents to Navarro College. [undefined]
Cox was extremely well-liked among his peers; he was named Homecoming King and Prom King as well as most popular, best looking and best all around. He is remembered for his commitment and work ethic, leadership qualities, and his willingness to stick up for others. [undefined]

During the early morning of May 28th hours after LeDajrick graduated from high school, he and three of his friends were hanging out at a 7-Eleven in Irving, Texas when three men in a white Kia Optima cat-called a young woman in their group. Cox attempted to diffuse the situation as his friends attempted to defend her from the unsolicited attention of the strangers. [undefined]
When Cox and his friends drove away, the Kia followed them.
The vehicle pulled up alongside them and open fire on the teenagers.
Three of the males in the car were hit including LeDajrick in the head and on his side.
He was transported to Parkland Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Jeremiah Robinson was arrested in connection with Cox's muder.
A vigil will be held at Carter High School Monday night at 7 pm in honor of LeDajrick's life.
