Diseko attended University of the Witwatersrand from 1996 - 1998, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and African political studies. [1]
She went on to attend the University of Westminster from 1999-2000, receiving a post graduate diploma in broadcast journalism. [1]
Career

Diseko started her career in 2003 as a Freelance Broadcast Journalist at BBC Radio 1Xtra and Broadcast Assistant at BBC Three's The 7 O'Clock News. From 2004-2006, she worked as a Broadcast Journalist at BBC London. In 2009-2010, she reported for local and international media outlets including CNN International leading up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.[2]
From 2010-2012, Diseko was a Freelance Broadcast Journalist and specialized in stories about South Africa. She regularly reported and produced for BBC World Service, CNN and ITN. Her commissions for BBC World Service included reporting on the growing influence of South African House music on London’s club scene. Commissions for CNN included a feature on the increasing number of South Africa’s “brain drain generation” returning to their home country.[2]
In 2012, Diseko became a reporter and producer for the BBC Focus on Africa. Her achievements included working extensively on Focus on Africa’s coverage of the Marikana shootings in South Africa, and being instrumental in the program breaking a key development in that story. In 2014, she began reporting for the BBC's joint World News/News Channel overnight service, and for BBC One.[2]
