Lavanya Jawaharlal

Lavanya Jawaharlal (born 30 May 1994) is an American entrepreneur and mechanical engineer.

Education

Lavanya graduated from UC Berkeley in spring of 2016 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering & Ocean Engineering. Specifically, she studied ocean topography and fluid dynamics. She was the Executive Vice President of the UC Berkeley student government, ASUC. She studied mechanical engineering, and founded an educational and tutoring company named STEM. Lavanya attended Diamond Bar High School, graduating in the Class of 2012.

Shark Tank Deal

Lavanya and her older sister Melissa Jawaharlal appeared on season 7 (episode 6) of CNBC's primetime TV show Shark Tank. They made an offer of $150,000 for 15% of Stem Center USA their educational startup. The sisters ended up making a deal with Lori Greiner, selling 20% of STEM Center USA for $200,000.
