Lauren Talarico

Lauren Talarico is an award winning journalist ournalist and a multi-skilled reporter at KHOU-TV. She's covered everything from Houston's historic floods to the Astro's World Series Championship. She has been nominated for several Emmy Award.[1]

Early Life

Lauren was born and raised in Clinton, N.Y. in 2001 She moved from her hometown down to the South to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Electronic Media in 2006. She moved to London after he graduation to work as an associate producer for an Academy Award winning film company. However, journalism was in her blood, so when she returned to the U.S. she started her career in TV news.

Career

In 2007, Lauren started her career in TV news as an Anchor and a Reporter Gannett for 4 years and 7 months. There, she anchored, produced, edited packages, made graphics, turned anchor packages and produced online contents. She then moved to WLTX-TV in December 2012, where she anchored a two-and-a-half-hour morning show at WLTX-TV. She loved having the opportunity to deliver the news bright and early and jokes that the vampire hours developed her into a coffee connoisseur. She left WLTX in July 2014 after spending 1 year and 4 months.

Lauren later joined KHOU-TV in July 2014 and she currently work as a Reporter/Fill-in Anchor.

Lauren is also a children's author and had her first book published, Teatime with Tigers, in 2011.[4][1]

Awards

Lauren is an award-winning journalist having earned an Associated Press award for excellence in education reporting.

She has also been nominated for several Emmy Award.

Personal Life

Lauren and her husband became parents to an amazing baby girl in 2017.

She loves spending time with them, traveling, walking their 130lb "fur-baby", running, wine tasting and checking out Houston's amazing food scene. As a token of giving back to the society, she dedicated much of her time to Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Special Olympics and is an ambassador for homing stray animals. [2][1]

Also, she has always had an eye for fashion and in 2012 and 2013 was named one of Columbia's most fashionable people by Wink Magazine.
