Memorial tribute
Landon was born and raised in the state of Pennsylvania. He grew up in East Freedom and attended Central High School.
Prior to becoming an officer, Landon worked as a MachineMachining Room Helper at Appleton Papers (now known as Appvion, Inc.). He then worked as a Salesfloor Supervisor at Kmart.
In December of 2015, he joined the State Police and was assigned to the Troop G Patrol Unit.
On December 30th, 2016, Officer Weaver responded to a call regarding a protection-from-abuse restraining order violation in the Juniata Township. During the response on Bakers Hollow Road, he approached the suspect, Jason Robison, and was fatally shot by him.
The remote area where the shooting occurred was closed off while police officers searched on foot, in cars and in a helicopter search for the trooper's killer.
A statement by Governor Tom Wolf was issued and he offered his condolences to the family and said Weaver "will always be remembered for his bravery, his sacrifice, and his willingness to serve... have full confidence that the person who committed this senseless act of violence will be captured and brought to justice. As the search continues, all of our law enforcement officers involved are in the thoughts of all Pennsylvanians.”
