Lakeem Keon Scott is a 37 year old resident of Bristol, Tennessee. He worked for Aon Corporation. Lakeem was originally from Bronx, New York.

Lakeem attended the CUNY start program at Laguardia Community College, an 18 week college prep course.

Lakeem went to Sarah J. Hale High School in Brooklyn, New York.

Lakeem was supported the Democratic Party (United States) and liked Elizabeth Warren's Facebook page. He also liked the Facebook page called The Great Awakening Of African Americans - 3. The page made a post calling the police KKK without the hoods and the 2016 Dallas Police Protest Shooting a hoax.

Shooting

On July 8, 2016 Lakeem Scott killed Jennifer Rooney, and injured three in a shooting spree at a Days Inn motel in Bristol, Tennessee. Those injured included Officer Matthew Cousins, Deborah Watts, and David Whitman Davis.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Officers believe that Lakeem was angered by the recent police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, and wanted to kill police officers and white people. Scott is black and all four of the shooting victims are white.

On Thursday July 8, 2016 at around 2:20 a.m Lakeem Scott started firing shots through the window of the Days Inn on Volunteer Parkway, striking the clerk.

Lakeem also indiscriminately fired at several vehicles driving on Volunteer Parkway.

Lakeem was shot when the officers returned fire.

He was taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center where he later died from his wounds.

Lakeem was armed with at least two weapons (an automatic-style rifle and a pistol) and was carrying a large amount of ammunition.

All three victims were taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Jennifer Rooney died after being shot by Lakeem while a the hospital.

David Whitman Davis, received minor injuries at the scene after being injured by flying glass resulting from the gunfire.Officer

Matthew Cousins sustained a superficial wound to the leg. He

was subsequently treated and released from BRMC.
