Politician Labour MP Jo Cox, mother of 2, who was elected to Parliament in 2015 was shot early afternoon on June 16, 2016.

She was shot three times and stabbed at around 1 pm in Birstall in her Batley & Spen constituency.

She was the first person in her family to graduate from university and did so from University of Cambridge.

Death

Jo Cox was shot and killed by Tommy Mair, a British citizen and resident of Birstall, England. It has been reported that he shouted, "Britain First" during the attack.
