Krystin Lisaius

Krystin Sorich Lisaius is a local reporter in Tucson, Arizona. She won the Miss Southern Arizona pageant in 2012. Krystin currently works a freelance writer for North Tucson Living Magazine. She previously worked as a television reporter at the local news channel KGUN.

Krystin is married to former crime reporter for KOLD News, Somchai Lisaius. The couple lives in Oro Valley, a suburb of Tucson. [1]

Krystin graduated from the University of Arizona in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Broadcast Journalism. While at the University of Arizona she was on the Dean's list and on the honor roll during high school. In 2009 she graduated from Pima Community College Associate of Arts (A.A.), General Education.

Child Abuse Allegations

Krystin Lisaius allegedly breastfed her infant child after snorting cocaine.

The infant became very sick from the cocaine in Krystin's breast milk and had to be hospitalized.

[1]

Krystin and her husband Som were indicted on charges of possession of a dangerous drug, drug paraphernalia and child abuse on June 9, 2016. Both plead not guilty to the charges in their first court appearance on June 27, 2016. [1]

On Saturday May 14, 2016 Krystin and her husband Som held a barbecue at their home with a friend.

The three of them snorted cocaine during the barbecue.

The next day Krystin breastfed her baby.

Since 12 hours had passed she believed that it was safe to breastfeed her child and that there would not be cocaine in her system.

[1]

After Krystin breastfed the baby, the baby was acting wabbly,” had “became limp,” was “unable to wake up,” and that her “eyes were rolling” into the back of her head.

[1]

Krystin and Som took the baby to a local hospital and left against medical advice after the hospital asked to do a toxicology test on the baby. They then took the baby to Banner University Medical Center for further evaluation. The child was transported to Diamond Children’s Hospital via a Golder Ranch Fire District ambulance. The parents were once again uncooperative and did not allow a toxicology screen on the child. [1]

Once representatives of the Office of Child Welfare Investigations came to the hospital Krystin and Som agreed to a toxicology test on the baby. Cocaine was found in the baby's system as well in Krystin and Som after the police tested them. Police later searched Krystin and Som's home and found almost 2 grams of cocaine in the house. [1]
