Kristin van Ogtrop is an American author and writer based in New York, New York. She is a columnist at TIME Magazine and author of Just Let Med Lie Down: Necessary Terms for the Half-Insane Working Mom.

Ogtrop graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor's degree in English language and literature. She later attended Columbia University, receiving a Master's degree in English language and literature.

She has held positions at Glamour, Vogue, Travel & Leisure, and Premiere.
