About/Early Life

Kevin Russ grew up in Portland,OR ^[6]living with his parents in a two bedroom housing unit within a Suburb. He describes his childhood as ''calm and peaceful''^[5], as a child he claims that he was known for being ''quite''. Russ attended Portland State University to major in Photography, yet dropped out due to lack of interest. For two years, Russ lived out of his car ^[4], documenting the wildlife and rugged landscapes of America with only his iPhone ^[1]. While in his early twenties he decided to quit his part-time job position to live in his car while traveling across the United States, He started in early 2013 and ''has no intention of slowing down.''

Starting Career Across Country

Russ lived in Portland, OR ^[6], for eight years and had never seen the Coast. At the end of 2011, he decided to head out to the Coast and back on the same day. That was the beginning. Later that year, he tried sleeping in his Car ^[2]for an extended weekend in the San Juan Islands in northwest Washington. By 2012, Kevin Russ was going out two weeks at a time and was only coming back to maintain the work at this part time position at an Agency. During the times he spent traveling, Russ would capture all of the shots he found interesting only with is iPhone ^[1], Russ posted his nature captures to his Myspace page, these captures would get thousands of views each week. While getting recognition in his hometown, Russ quickly decided to submit his shots to his hometown's local newspaper company. After receiving multiple phone calls from local Art Gallery's, he decided to dedicate his life to becoming a full time Photographer.

Recognition/Rise to Success

quickly was recognized by the Red Raven Art Company in 2013. From there, he gained more and more followers on Instagram as well as Facebook. Following his rise in Followers, Russ took on his career ^[2] more seriously by continuously driving from State to State ^[3], seeking stunning shots. Kevin Russ became well-known mainly because of his background story, which impressed many buyers from Art Gallery's. Russ has been featured in many interviews across various YouTube channels. He sells off his Photography pieces ^[0] whilst still living in his Car ^[4]. As Russ's net worth grows, so does his popularity among-st many Photographers.
