Dr. Kevin Morton Jr. is an an American Surgeon. He is a Surgeon at Detroit, Michigan's St John Hospital & Medical Center.
Personal Life
Morton was a 22-year-old student at Oakland University who was paying his way through school by working night shifts at a Detroit Arby's. One night after closing up, Morton was getting into his car when a man fired at him, piercing Morton's abdomen. Morton was rushed to St. John hospital as a code 1 trauma patient. Doctors said his chances of surviving were about 10% that night.
In May 2016, Morton graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He will be starting a residency as a doctor at the very hospital that treated and saved him. When asked about his decision to become a doctor, Morton answers, "The compassion and drive...shown in trying to save my life...I just want to pay that forward."
