Kelly Jenrette (born September 12) is a producer, writer and Emmy award-winning actress who is known for starring in The Handmaid's Tale.
Early Life
Career
She has been featured in several humorous Kmart commercials and made her stand up debut in 2014. She won a 2018 Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actress in a drama series for her work on the “Other Women” episode of Hulu's “The Handmaid’s Tale,” pitting her against Viola Davis, Diana Rigg, and Cicely Tyson.
She recently starred in the Netflix Series All day and all Night as Delanda (Jah's Mother). Kelly Jenrette also joined Jeffrey Wright in Netflix’s All Day and a Night to portray the wife of Wright’s character. She also played the mother to Ashton Sanders’ character.
“All Day and a Night” was told in three parallel narratives, following a young criminal (Sanders) after his arrival in prison as he looks back on the days preceding his arrest and the circumstances of his childhood to find clues to his way forward in life and his survival.
The actress Regina Taylor was set for a principle role along with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Isaiah John, Shakira Ja-nai Paye, and Andrea Lynn Ellsworth are rounding out the cast.
