Kelly Cobiella began her journalism career in Grand Junction, Colorado. She worked for KJCT, an ABC affiliate whose market ranked 187th in the United States at the time. She started doing early morning weather and was an anchor, producer, and reporter for in Colorado. [1] [📁]

In December 1994, she joined KCOY, a CBS -affiliated news station. She reported weekend news in Santa Barbara, California. In 1997, she was promoted to a weekday anchor. [1]

In 1998, Cobiella moved to Miami where she co-anchored the 5:30 PM weekday newscast for WPLG. [1]

In 2003, Kelly Cobiella became a news correspondent for CBS Newspath. A year later, she became a correspondent for CBS News. [5] She reported in Miami, Dallas, and New York City until 2011.
