MacDonald Jr. was wanted by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office since February 2018 for multiple domestic violence charges.

He was the ex-husband of Kelly Jean Garrison.

On April 5, 2018, McDonald Jr. drove from Florida, fatally shot his ex-wife and her sister, then committed suicide at his ex-wife's home in Dawsonville, Georgia.

Three children were also in the home.

The two-year-old was injured, the 13-year-old managed to escape to a neighbor's house and the 16-year-old was shot.
