Kazi Malum Akhtar is a headmaster at Talpukur Aara High Madrasa in Kolkata, India who was beaten up by other teachers in the madrasa (Islamic school) for teaching the Indian national anthem to his students.
Akhtar was also beaten in March 2015 when he campaigned for female education and against child marriage.
