Kathleen Hicks is a Senior Fellow in the International Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Her expertise includes US national security strategy, planning, and assessment, military plans and policy, Department of Defense and interagency reform, and the roles and missions of the US armed forces.

Recent projects include the evaluation of global health and security issues for CSIS’s Center for Global Health Policy, identifying presidential transition challenges for the next secretary of defense, leading the Beyond Goldwater-Nichols Department of Defense Governance Project, and co-leading the CSIS Task Force on Non-Traditional Security Assistance.
