Karter Zaher is one half of Islamic hip-hop duo Deen Squad. [1]
Karter's birth name is “Kodor Zaher” (born February 17, 1992).
He was born in Ottawa, Ontario and is of Lebanese origin.
Growing up, Karter Zaher’s biggest musical influence was 2pac.
At the age of 11, while he was living in Lebanon, Karter was caught in the 2006 war.
Feeling a sense of helplessness to the situation and fearing for his life, K.Z was pulled closer to his roots and his cultural identity which gave him a sense of duty to use his talents to empower his community.
After escaping the war and moving back to Canada, Karter Zaher wrote and recorded “ Hijabi Queen” where he began to receive worldwide recognition.
Karter's Hijabi Queen brand that he launched in 2014 which came with a music video and a clothing brand has inspired Muslim girls from all over the world to wear their Hijabs with pride.
