Karen Mallard is an American Educator and a 2018 Democratic candidate in the election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Virginia. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

Mallard is a native of the state of Virginia and grew up in the city of Coeburn. ^[undefined]

Mallard attended and graduated from the University of Virginia's College at Wise with a degree in Elementary Education and Teaching. She

would also received her Master's Degree from the University of Virginia. ^[undefined]

For more nearly 30 years, she worked as a Reading Specialist/Literacy Coach for the Virginia Beach City Public Schools.

She is currently the Reading Specialist /Instructional Specialist at Chesapeake Public Schools.

In early 2018, Mallard became a Democratic candidate in the election to the U.S.

House to represent in the 2nd Congressional District of Virginia.
