DJ Kap Slap (born October 4, 1989) is an Electronic dance music DJ, he is known for his signature mashup sets. ^[2]

In 2011, he toured widely and performed more than twenty shows over the course of a nine-month span.

He performed at the 2017 Hangout Music Festival. ^[3][4]

Kap Slap born as Jared Lucas was born on October 4, 1989, in Lexington, Massachusetts. His parents’ names are not known. He has a younger sister whose name is not known. ^[3]

He grew up and lived in Massachusetts with his family. Growing up, he always had an interest in music. His younger sister was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and shortly thereafter, he lost his mother due to breast cancer.^[4]

Being a troubled adolescent, he turned to music as an outlet.

He learned the guitar, bass, and drums as he experimented with an array of different instruments.

There is no information about his education or background but he is a high school graduate, he graduated from a high school located in Massachusetts.

He then went on to Lehigh University to pursue a degree in Integrated Business & Engineering. ^[4]

While in university, he found himself in and out of numerous alternative bands that all seemed to lead him to nowhere.

In late 2009, he began experimenting with Garageband and in the summer of 2010, he released his first “mashup” using Ableton Live 8.

In less than a year later, he played his first gig, leading to an impressive 25-show tour in a short 9 months.^[3]

After his marvelous success of both his music and his live performances, he embarked on a countrywide tour under the stage name Kap Slap.

Kap Slap swept dance floors across the country, he tried to use music to bring about what he likes to call,

The stage name “Kap Slap” refers to his family line shot in the Kappa Alpha Society; immediately after the recipient begins funneling a beer a shot of Bacardi 151 rum is added, giving them a “slap” in the face. ^[2]

He credits his popularity as a musician due to his boundless love of music, in addition to his understanding of the intricacies of music theory and the ability to artfully manipulate them.^[4]

These skills have helped him to top the Hype Machine Charts on ten different occasions.

He has since performed at major festivals, including KAABOO, Hangout Music Festival, Snow Globe, Made in America, Firefly Music Festival, as well as countless top venues and nightclubs.^[3]

In 2017, he performed at the 2017 Hangout Music Festival.

He has also featured in some of his girlfriend’s YouTube videos.
