Joseph Jakubowski is a Natural law proponent with anti-police and anti-government views. He was a fugitive before being caught by law enforcement after stealing guns and releasing a manifesto and video. A resident in the state of Wisconsin, he was convicted of various crimes in 2008 including attempting to steal a gun from law enforcement [2] [4]before going on the lam in 2017 after robbing a gun store and sending out a 161 page political screed.
Manhunt
Jakubowski is accused of taking a large quantity of handguns and rifles from the Armageddon Supplies gun shop on April 4, 2017 in Janesville, Wisconsin. [2] [4]He broke into the shop at about 8:40 p.m. and stole about 16 high-end firearms. Thirty minutes later, investigators found a car that was registered to Jakubowski engulfed in flames near the shop. [4] [2]
Authorities say he has acquired a bulletproof vest and helmet.
He was seen on video surveillance at a Mobil gas station in Janesville hours before the burglary. [1]
In April 2017, a $20,000 reward was being offered for information leading to his arrest.
Jakubowski sent a 161 page screed to U.S.
President Donald Trump. He expressed various grievances against law enforcement and for Natural law. [6]
Arrest
On April 14, 2017, before 6:00 a.m., Joseph A. Jakubowski was arrested.
Police found him at a campsite in Vernon County, Wisconsin. He is in the process of being returned to Rock County for further investigation and charges. [7]
Criminal Record
Prior to being arrested for the aforementioned series of events, Joseph Jakubowski had a criminal record.
He has one felony conviction for attempting to steal a gun from a police officer in 2008, along with a history of misdemeanors, including for battery.
