Pastor Jordan Brown
Pastor Jordan Brown
Jordan Brown is an openly gay Pastor from Austin, Texas. He is the founder of the Church of Open Doors, a non-denominational, Christian-based church. His ministry focuses on creating an atmosphere where the members of his congregation can have the freedom to be themselves and experience God in their own way.
Whole Foods Lawsuit
Brown says a cake he ordered a cake from Whole Foods on April 14, 2016 had a homophobic slur written on the top when he received it.
In a YouTube video, Pastor Brown says he didn't realize what it said until he got into his vehicle. In the video he shows the box containing the cake was still sealed. Brown says when he told store management what happened they said their employee did not do it, and no action would be taken.
Brown's attorneys say after reaching out to the Whole Foods corporate office and receiving no substantive response for more than three days, they filed a lawsuit on April 18, 2016.
Whole Foods has released the security cam footage of Pastor Brown paying for the cake.
[1] They say the team member was also LGBT and the Pastor is lying, and they plan to countersue.
In May 2016, Brown dropped the lawsuit against Whole Foods. "I was wrong to pursue this matter and use the Media to perpetuate this story", said Brown in a statement.
