Joanna Gomez, better known as JoJo Gomez, is an American Dancer, Dance Instructor and Choreographer based in Studio City, California. She is known for being a dancer for Demi Lovato and has performed at major events such as the MTV VMAs, America’s Got Talent, and X Factor.
Early Life
Gomez was born in Fairview, New Jersey. When she was growing up in New Jersey, her parents took her to Broadway shows such as Chicago and A Chorus Line which would serve as her inspiration to dance. She later moved to South Hadley, Massachusetts and attended Holyoke Catholic High School but would spend most of her time traveling the country to dance. [1] At the age of 17, she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in the dance industry.
Career

Gomez made her big break in 2011 when she earned a spot dancing at the VMAs when Brittney Spears received a tribute and won the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award. Since then, she has danced alongside Justin Bieber, Tinashe,Becky-G, Cher Lloyd, J Balvin, Kimberly Cole, Glee, East Los High Season 2, X Factor, Voice, America’s Got Talent, Radio Disney Music Awards, LMFAO, FLAMA Univision and Mindless Behavior. In addition, she has done choreography for Sketchers commercials, Kimberly Cole’s Korean Tour, and LA STYLE Fashion Week.
Dance Instruction
Gomez is a dance instructor and teaches regularly in Los Angeles at (MDC) Millenium Dance Complex and EDGE Performing Arts Center.
She has also taught Master Classes at various Millenium locations including MDC Orange Country, MDC Dallas, MDC Salt Lake City, and MDC Denver where she is also one of the official Studio Mentors.
Other Mater Classes that Gomez has taught include The PULSE on Tour, Abby Lee Dance Company LA, Bobby’s Beat Camp, West Coast Elite Dance, and WHES International Dance Convention.

Gomez has a strong social media presence.
She created her YouTube account in 2009 and uplaods dance tutorials. Her most most popular videos include "ME TOO - @MEGHAN_TRAINOR - Choreography By JOJO GOMEZ", "WORK - @badgalriri - By JOJO GOMEZ", and "Once Upon A Time (NEVER BITCH) @MariahLynnBoss - Choreography By JOJO GOMEZ." Her choreography has also been featured on Tim Milgram's YoutTube channel. As of May 2018, Gomez had over 873k followers on Instagram, 436k subscribers on YouTube, and 17.3 followers on Twitter.
Personal Life
Gomez has been dating fellow dancer Donovan Okimura since 2017 and they have been featured alongside together in Tim Milgram's videos.
