Johnny Archer (Journalist) is a News Anchor and a reporter at NBC 6 who currently anchors the NBC 6 weekend evening newscasts on Saturdays and Sundays. He is an experienced journalist with history of working top news industries and television markets. He is very skilled in Broadcasting writing and story telling. He has a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting Telecommunications and Mass media earned from Temple University.

Education

Johnny Archer studied Communication in Delaware County Community College He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Telecommunication and Mass Media in 2009, from Temple University. While he school, he interned at WRDW-FM, Philadelphia, PA and KYW, Philadelphia, PA in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Career

After graduating from Temple University, Johnny joined Idaho KPVI, Pocatello, ID as Falls Bureau Correspondent/Weekend Anchor in August 2009. At KPVI, he anchored and produced shows, shot and edited videos, wrote stories for website and AP style and for broadcast. He eventually left KPVI in February 2011 to join WHAS in Louisville, KY.

He joined WHAS as a Weekend Morning Anchor which is main work being anchoring weekend morning shows as well as writing packaged stories daily.

He also conduct live and taped interviews.

He left WHAS to join KXAS Dallas, Texas in April 2015.

At KXAS-TV, Johnny served mainly as a Weekend Anchor and a GA Reporter who is dedicated to anchor multiple shows per day. He made public appearances and handled extremely tight deadlines. He also deciphered newsworthy information and fact checked information

In December 2017, Johnny joined NBC 6 NBC as reporter at NBC 6 news after leaving NBC 5 KXAS in Dallas, Texas. His popular coverage includes: Ebola Crisis in Dallas (2015), investigative reports on deplorable housing conditions in Louisville, Kentucky and he also covered events such as deadly tornadoes in Southern Indiana and Snow blizzards and wildfires in Eastern Idaho.[6][1][2]

Personal Life

Johnny Archer is a good swimmer, a runner and an avid cyclist.

He has completed his triathlons.

He has been a regular volunteer for reading to elementary school kids.

He extensively makes used of social media in reaching out to the audience and for sharing his news. He is currently on Twitter with almost 4 thousand followers and on Facebook with over 6 thousand followers. Johnny also have an Instagram account under the usernamejohnny.archer with over 2 thousand followers.[3][4][5]
