Joel Taylor was an American Meteorologist and Reality television personality known for starring in the Discovery Channel series, Storm Chasers. [undefined] [undefined] [undefined]
Biography
Taylor was born and raised in Western Oklahoma for most of his life. [undefined] He grew up at the heart of Tornado Alley in Elk City where he had most of his upbringing. [undefined] Ever since seeing the tornadoes as a child he wanted to become a meteorologist. [undefined]
Education
After high school, Taylor attended the University of Oklahoma where he received his of Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. [undefined] During college he met his long time friend and collaborator, Reed Timmer. [undefined]
Storm Chasers

Some time after college in 2007, he became an integral part of Discovery Channel's new Reality television show, Storm Chasers. He was one of the stars of the show along with his friend, Reed Timmer. [undefined]
He was a part of the show until its cancellation in 2012.
Death

His death was revealed to the public via Social media by many of his closest friends and family, including people he had worked with over the years. His cause of death remains uncertain. [undefined] [undefined]
Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas
Taylor was in the Cruise, Harmony of the Seas, that set sail from Fort Lauderdale into the Atlantic Ocean on January 20th, 2018. While partying inside of the cruise ship on one of the nights, he took too much GBH, which ultimately led to him passing out on the floor. He had to be escorted to his room. [1] One of the passengers of the cruise admitted that a tremendous amount of ecstasy, cocaine, and other substances were found and that Taylor was allegedly among those indulging in those substances. He was found dead once the cruise docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico. [1]
Personal Life
Taylor lived in Norman, Oklahoma shortly before his death. He is remembered for being a kind person and inspiration for many of his friends and family. One of his friends said of him on Social Media at the time of his death: "Truly a classy guy". [undefined] [undefined]
