Joe Carini
Joe Carini is a powerlifter and weightlifting coach from Northern New Jersey.
He is the owner of Carini's House of Iron.
Mr. Carini started lifting weights when he was 14-years-old and has not stopped since.
In the 1980s, Carini was a 6-time New Jersey's Strongest Man.
Some of his milestones include becoming the first man in NJ officially to squat 800 lbs, Bench Press 600 lbs, and Powerlift a total over 2100 lbs.
During Mr. Carini's time of success, he also fought some demons.
Drug addiction landed him a few years in jail, but he was able to overcome his struggles to open up a successful powerlifting gym.
In 2007, Mr. Carini opened up Carini's House of Iron. He is credited for turning around the career of Tiki Barber and extending that of LaDainian Tomlinson. [1] Some of his other prominent clients include B.J. Raji, Chris Snee, and Shaun O'Hara. Hundreds of athletes from all different sports and all different levels of competition have found success after training with Mr. Carini
Today, Mr. Carini wakes up at 3:45 AM six days a week to workout for two hours before his gym opens.
