Career
Joe Aldeguer initially started out as a commodity futures broker/trader, an area where he first achieved widespread recognition.
Shortly after obtaining his Series 3 License in 1988, Joe became a highly successful broker and trader in commodity futures.
His primary activities during this period included helping clients profit from the sale and purchase of gold, crude oil, and other commodities.
Joe also helped manage stock market investments for individual and corporate clients.
With his global outlook and savvy business capabilities, Joe soon began specializing in trading and investing in foreign currencies.
Joe’s focus shifted from investment to real estate in the early 1990's, when the real estate market in the United States entered into its boom stage.
Although still a young man in his late teens, Joe had already made his first real estate property investment by then.
This investment would prove to be an auspicious start to a hugely successful career, as he soon set about forming his own firm.
With a combination of skill, hard work, persistence, and favorable market forces, the time was right for Joe to make his own move.
The result was The Mortgage Exchange, which would later become one of the largest mortgage brokerage firms in the country.
The Mortgage Exchange
The Mortgage Exchange was already a fully established company as early as 1993, which was long before most anyone began to take notice of the real estate boom.
At 26 years old, Joe was already the head of a multi-million dollar firm that would employ a team of 350 mortgage loan officers at its peak.
Over the subsequent 16-year period, Joe and his team closed deals amounting to more than $10 billion.
In 2002, the Mortgage Exchange was nominated as 'Mortgage Company of the Year' in 2002.
Custom Home Building
As a longtime real estate investment specialist, Joe Aldeguer has a keen insight into most areas of the real estate industry.
Custom home building is one of his passions, and he has a number of pointers for anyone who is interested in investing in such properties. One factor that Joe always emphasizes is the importance of contracting the services of an architect right from the start–even before the property on which the house is to be built is purchased. For Joe, this is an essential part of the process, considering the many factors that should be considered when purchasing property. Based on his own extensive experiences, Joe knows fully well that architects are the most qualified to make an assessment of these factors, which is why it is important that their services be enlisted as early as possible in the planning process.
Architects will continue to provide invaluable assistance during the design stage.
Working closely with a qualified architect will ensure the efficient and successful completion of the project.
Joe also emphasizes the need to keep the architect informed on the budget during this stage, so that cost-management measures may be implemented as needed, without compromising the quality of the house.
In the Media
In his role as a finance and real estate specialist, Joe has been called upon to host a number of syndicated television and radio shows.
Much of his work in this capacity took place during the real estate boom that occurred in the country from 2004 to 2008.
Making Money with Joe Aldeguer was the most popular and longest-running of Joe’s radio appearances. The show was hosted on the weekends on ABC/WLS in Chicago, and provided listeners with financial and real estate advice drawn from Joe’s own professional experiences.
In addition to Making Money, Joe also hosted several talk shows on stations such as ESPN/Chicago, KABC Los Angeles, CBS/KLSX Los Angeles, ABC/KGO Hawaii and ABC/KKFI San Francisco, where he shared insights on a variety of topics of interest to the real estate and financial markets.
