Jessamy Eve Samuels was a freshman at University of Arkansas majoring in Anthropology. She was from London, UK.
She was a staff reporter for The Arkansas Traveler, the University of Arkansas student newspaper, from May 2015 to August 2015.
Death
On May 15, 2016 Samuels was hiking with a friend at Hawksbill Craig in Newton County, Arkansas. She had hopped off a rock and stumbled, falling off the bluff. She fell more than a 100 feet.
Samuels was pronounced dead at the scene.
Personal Life
Samuels was born in England, UK and moved to Rogers, Arkansas when she was in the first grade. She had an older sister who had graduated from University of Arkansas. Samuels had just finished her freshman year at the university.
She had also switched her major from Political Science to Anthropology.
Friends of Samuels described her as kind and sincere.
Samuels was a Bernie Sanders (Politician) supporter. She was a proud member and leader in the Young Democrats of Arkansas. Samuels was the second President of the Rogers High School Young Democrats.
