Early Life and Education
Kaehms is originally from Castro Valley, California and graduated from Dublin High School (California). She attended the University of California, San Diego where she was on the track and field squad. She graduated with a degree in Bioengineering. [1]
Career
During college, Jennifer was an intern for NASA, a computer biology intern for Monash University in Australia, and a resident advisor at her school. [1]For four months, Jennifer was a Community Advocate for SynBioBeta. [1]Jennifer worked as a consultant for startups, hacker houses, and venture capitalists in the San Francisco Bay Area; at one point she built a hacker house out of a tank museum. [1] [4]In Septmeber 2016, she joined Canvas Ventures as a General Analyst after sending a cold email to partner Rebecca Lynn. [4]She was later promoted to Investment Associate as a result of sourcing Luminar Technologies. [1]Jennifer organized a number of events including Angels with Angels (a gathering of angel investors who watch Blue Angels) and Path to Partner (an event that advises associates on how to navigate their careers.
