Jasmine Pennix is a 39-year-old former teacher's aide.

He was a Biology teaching assistant at Bay View High School.

Jasmine originally hails from Chicago.

He goes by the name "Jazz".

He studied at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

In April 2016, Jasmine was charged with physical abuse for choking a 14-year-old student.

The student was treated at the hospital for minor neck injury.

Pennix and the student got into an argument when he and other boys were “ripping on each other” in biology class, according to investigators.

The teen told Pennix to “shut the f--k up,” and Pennix pulled the chair out from under him and put him in a headlock.

Pennix faces up to six years behind bars and a $10,000 fine if he’s convicted.
