Jason Pero was an American 14 year-old teenager who was gunned down by the police after he had exited the house with big butcher knife. [undefined] [1]
Biography
Born and raised in the state of Wisconsin, he lived in Lake Superior Chippewa's Indian reservation near Odanah. [undefined] He is remembered for his sense of humor and for being a reliable friend in the neighborhood that he grew up in. [undefined] He was a student at Ashland Middle School where he was a well-known personality. [undefined]
He lived with his grandparents.
They raised him since he was a 1 year old, and had hopes of joining the military.
He also played the drums for his tribe.
He was a major fan of the Rapper XXXTentacion and enjoyed sharing the memes about him on his Facebook page. He also shared other kinds of memes, some of them related to depression. [1]

On Wednesday morning, November, 10th, 2017, Jason returned home shortly after
going to school for having the flu, and got himself a 7-Up, laid on the couch and started watching TV.
[undefined] But then he left the house carrying a butcher knife.
According to his uncle who was doing laundry in the downstairs part of the house, he recalls when his nephew left the house, but that he does not know why he left the house with the knife.
Once he was outside in the streets, Deputies were called onto the neighborhood after it was reported that Jason took to the streets carrying the knife.
One of the Deputies who responded shot Jason, who then died of the gunshot wounds at the hospital.

People in the community have shared their condolences and support for the family of Jason.
His grandfather has gone record to say the following: [undefined]
"He's a boy.
There's warning shots.
There's Tasers.
There's pepper spray.
You don't go right on a 14-year-old kid and go for the kill zone."
His grandmother says that he's innocent and that he would never hurt a fly with the knife.
The superintendent of the district also offered a statement since many of the students were affected by Jason's death.
She said:
“There’s a deep hurt there and a lot of anger a lot of confusion how a 14-year-old boy could be involved in a police shooting.”
Both the high school and the middle schools in the area had fairly low attendance days after Jason's death.
