Jason Brown is an American tattoo artist based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Brown works at a south side parlor in Indianapolis and is the father of a 3-year-old boy.

On July 27, 2017, Brown was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to the shooting death of Homecroft Police Department Aaron Allen.

The shooting occurred when Officer Allan and a Homecroft Police Department officer responded to the scene of a car crash near Maynard Drive and Madison Avenue at around 2:30 p.m. local time.

The driver crashed through a fence, and the car flipped over.

As Officer Allan approached the car to render aid to the occupants in the vehicle, Brown allegedly started shooting at the officer, and Allan was hit multiple times.

He was transported to Eskenazi Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Marion County prosecutor will make a decision on charges for Brown on August 1, 2017. A court hearing is set for 1:00 p.m.

Brown has four infractions and one misdemeanor on his record. The misdemeanor was a charge of possession of marijuana or a synthetic cannabinoid. He was found guilty and sentenced to 30 days in a county jail.
