Recruiting David Price To Boston
Jared is widely attributed as an influential factor in David Price's decision to join the Boston Red Sox. Price took offense to Ortiz gloating after surrending two home runs in the same game to him. Carrabis chimed in and tweeted: [8]"David Ortiz has been blasting home runs in October since you were pissing your pants in kindergarten".
Jared was eventually blocked, but he still kept tweeting at Price.
One day, Price tweeted back "I cherish our friendship" and everything changed.
Jared said about the experience: [8]
"I kept tweeting at him, because I don’t think he understood that you don’t need to be interacting with my tweets for my audience to laugh at what I’m saying.
I think the fact that I continued to troll him a little bit after he blocked me gave him the sense that I was doing it to be funny, and not to hurt his feelings or be malicious.
So he got the joke, and from there it took a really funny turn."
They went back and forth throughout 2014-2015 exchanging friendly tweets, at that time Price became a free agent and signed with the Red Sox three weeks later. It's believed that Carrabis had a major role in the decision. [7]
