James Dempsey was an American WWII veteran for the United States Navy who's death became national news after a hidden video that went viral reveals how nurses laughed while he was gasping his last breaths. ^{[1] [undefined]}

Born in the state of Georgia, James grew up in the town of Woodstock for most of his life. He was a father of two sons, Tim and Tony, and the grandfather of two, Jessica and Jeffrey Smith. He was married for more than 50 years to his wife, Belle Porter Dempsey. ^[1]

On Feb. 27, 2014, as James laid in his hospital bed gasping his last breaths moments after he had called for help 6 times - he became unconscious.

Georgia state records show nursing home staff found Dempsey unresponsive at 5:28 a.m. ET.

In a video deposition included in the lawsuit records, former nursing supervisor Wanda Nuckles told the family’s lawyer, Mike Prieto, how she rushed to Dempsey’s room when a nurse alerted her that Dempsey had stopped breathing.

As she was questioned, she did not know about the camera that had recorded her actions.

Through questioning, it was revealed that Nuckles was not telling the truth.

According to several highly skilled professional nurses who viewed the video, they discovered numerous errors in the caring of Mr. Dempsey.

The video also shows Knuckles and other nurses that have not been named, laughing as Mr. Dempsey dies in front of them.
